Hi, my name is Diana Koelbl and I'm located in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories, Canada.
In 2008 I came to Canada for the first time. At that time I was working and living in Vancouver, B.C. I was working in my profession as Veterinary Technician and in my time off I tried to explore as much in and around Vancouver and B.C. as possible. This was also the time, when I got my first DSLR camera. I wanted to capture all my adventures and especially the wildlife.
With friends around, who have been into photography for years already, I learned the basics. But at one point basics haven't been good enough anymore. Forced by a severe malfunction of my camera during my roadtrip to and through Alaska I was forced to use only manuell settings, which provided me with a huge learning curve, some real big challenges and also evoked a new, more detailed interest in photography.
Also I was pleased with my pictures, which I had taken with the automatic mode, I was so much more impressed with my pictures, once I shot in manuell or semi manuell modes.
So it happened, that my personal library grew a lot in the photography section (and it's still growing) and with a lot of "trial and error" I made my way to become a self thought photographer, also I still work and still love to work as Veterinary Technician, too.
To combine my love for animals and photography was just a logical, but also heart felt step.
I enjoy also other fields of photography, as you can see in my galleries. But to work with animals (no matter if pet or wild) is so much fun and gives me the most satisfaction. To capture these moments, where a pet shows it's true personality are my goal. No matter, if in a action shot or a tranquile moment on the couch!!!

If you're interested in a pet portrait session or in one of my prints, or one of my pictures, also it is not available as print (yet), please contact me via the contact form, visit me on facebook and send me a message or send an email to: dkphotography@gmx.com

I'm looking forward to hear from you!
